Antiqued paving stone, resembling classic old paving stone, are those which will work the best in the rustic compositions or in the surrounding of historic architecture. They emphasize the nature of places marked by the spirit of the time.

Those with geometrical shapes and slightly larger size fit in turn to minimalistic arrangements. Their simple form and monochromatic color goes well with modern buildings. We can create an exotic paradise also in our garden, using paving stones in warm, colorful melanges or those imitating with their shape and structure natural stone - sand or granite. A good way to decorate the property is replacing simple alleys with winding paths and interesting patterns. For this purpose we can use trapezoid paving stones, allowing to build arcs and circles.

Its size and thickness are as important as the color and shape of paving stone. When choosing its size, one should consider the size of surface laid with it - on narrow paths small elements, which eliminate the necessity of cutting will work well, while large slabs will be the best for terraces. Thickness, in turn, should be selected due to its purpose - 4-6 cm for less loaded surfaces, 6-8 cm for places subjected to heavy traffic.

Proper maintenance is essential
Surfaces laid with paving stone are constantly exposed to the influence of harmful hazards - the changing weather conditions, intense use, as well as stains, microorganisms, or weed infestation. All these elements have an impact on the appearance and durability of paving stone, therefore, one should remember about proper maintenance. Regular sweeping and cleaning are basic and necessary maintenance activities. It is also recommended to throughly wash the entire surface using pressure washer at least 2-3 times a year, which helps to clean inaccessible areas and hollows, and also to get rid of green lichens covering the top layer of paving stone.

In case of removing tough dirt, such as oil stains, or engine oil, one should be careful because strong chemical agents or mechanical scraping can cause discoloration and affect the structure of paving stone. In such cases it is best to consult with the manufacturer and use recommended preparations. Weeds growing into slots between paving stones do not add to the charm of our surface. However, their removal is not a simple task. One should avoid manual removing of plants, because it can cause loosening of the particular paving stones, and as a result destabilization of entire surface.

Far easier and safer way is removing weeds using professional herbicides, which one should apply using spray or a special pen. Once our paths and alleys shine with cleanliness it is good to secure the flawless look with special preparations for the impregnation of concrete paving stones. This activity prevents the absorption of water and fluid contaminants, positively affecting the durability of material and increasing its resistant to scratches and abrasion.

The surface around the house has to important functions - decorative and strictly use. Driveway, or alleys should be stable and attractive for many years, regardless of the season. However, the final effect depends on proper arrangement and right maintenance.
